I’ve worked with this global technology leader for a number of years and I relish the challenge of their demanding assignments. This assignment, however, was on another level altogether. They required an outstanding marketing professional with detailed insights into technical designers and architects; a very specific target audience.

The candidate needed to have a thorough understanding of "hot tech issues" and would need to create a first class marketing strategy that would engage, and develop loyalty with, the desired target audience. A very tight timescale added to the challenge. Intensive interviews, presentations, and panel appraisals awaited the candidates, all taking place over a single day. Each candidate performed superbly, but there was a standout presentation by one of my candidates. She met the demanding selection criteria and was offered the position. Despite being in the summer holidays, the candidate started work just eight weeks after I’d identified her as a suitable candidate.
